Privacy Policy

BeatForge is built to keep your creative work on your device. This policy explains what we collect, what we don't, and why.

Last updated: 30 June 2026

The short version

What we collect

Data that stays on your device

Your tracks, patterns, mixer settings, imported audio and microphone recordings are stored locally on your iPhone. We do not upload them to our servers. If you use iCloud backup, Apple may back them up under your own iCloud account.

AI composer prompts

When you ask the AI to generate or vary a beat, the text description (the "vibe" you type or select) is sent to our AI provider to produce an arrangement. We don't attach your name or contacts to it. We don't send your audio or recordings to the AI.

Optional account

You can make music without an account. If you choose to create one with Sign in with Apple (offered when you finish a track), we store the email and name Apple provides, plus your marketing-email preference, on our server so we can recognise you and — only if you opt in — send you occasional product emails. You can sign out or permanently delete your account and its data at any time inside the app (Learn tab → Account → Delete account), or by emailing us. Every email we send includes a one-tap unsubscribe link.

Usage and product events

BeatForge records simple product-interaction events (for example: a beat was generated, a track was finished or exported) and sends them to our server to understand which features matter and to power in-app guidance and — for opted-in accounts — timely product emails. These events are tied to an app-install identifier, and to your account if you create one. We do not use them for advertising. Apple may also share anonymized crash and usage analytics with us if you've opted in at the system level (Settings → Privacy → Analytics & Improvements).

Purchases

Subscriptions and purchases are handled by Apple. We receive confirmation that an entitlement is active, but we never see your payment details.

Microphone

BeatForge asks for microphone access only when you choose to record a sample. Recordings are saved locally and used only inside the app. You can revoke microphone access any time in Settings → BeatForge.

How we use data

We do not use your data for advertising, and we do not sell or rent it to third parties.

Third parties

We share the minimum necessary with service providers that help us run the app — our AI provider (to process composer prompts), Apple (for purchases and optional analytics), and our infrastructure providers. They process data on our behalf under their own terms.

Children

BeatForge is not directed to children under 13, and we do not knowingly collect personal information from them. If you believe a child has provided us personal data, contact us and we'll remove it.

Changes

We may update this policy as the app evolves. We'll revise the "last updated" date above, and significant changes will be noted in the app.
